If you’re looking for healthy snacks for your kids, try out these easy keto snacks, that are both delicious and easy to make!

As with every diet, a lot of people think you should not make your kids follow a ketogenic diet.

But did you know the keto diet has been created for children?

This might come as a surprise, but it’s true: the ketogenic diet was first developed by doctors wanting to help kids suffering from epilepsy, and it efficiently helped to reduce seizures.

Apart from the weight control benefits of the keto diet, you should also know that what makes it perfect for children is that it’s much healthier than the traditional high-carb meals they’re being fed.

If you let your kids eat high-carb all the time, they will start losing their insulin sensitivity, which is the first step toward type 2 diabetes.

The good thing is that kids probably still have a good insulin sensitivity, which means you don’t have to be strict with them eating a keto diet.

Just making sure you feed them high fat, high protein, low carb meals is enough to make sure they stay healthy and thin. If ever they eat sugar, just let them do it. For them, it’s no big deal.

Keto Snacks For Kids

Before we jump into the keto snacks for kids, I would like to emphasize something important.

If you haven’t fed your kids with keto-approved recipes, don’t force them to eat everything keto overnight.

Try to add new keto recipes to their diet, but don’t make them feel like it’s a diet, and try to see how they respond to it.

If they love these new recipes, great!

If not, try harder. They should love it. You can find tons of delicious keto recipes, and this is important if you want your kids not to fight with you over food.

Right, I said it. Now, on to the healthy snacks for kids!

Don’t Lose It, Pin It!

1. Keto Pizza Roll Ups

Full recipe here

So easy to make, your kids will RAVE about these keto pizza roll-ups. And I should know, my kids usually HATE keto recipes. But they keep asking me to make more of these.

Besides, you could also have some great family time by letting your kids help you make these pizza roll-ups.

2. Keto Cheezit Crackers

Full recipe here

If you’re looking for a quick keto snack, these are the easiest you could dream of.

Your kids might not like keto food… but I don’t know any kids who don’t like grilled cheese!

3. Keto Pigs In A Blanket

Full recipe here.

Apart from their funny name, kids in a blanket are actually a great healthy snack for kids, and they’ll be happy to help you make them!

The dough is keto-approved and healthy, containing mozzarella cheese, almond flour, and eggs.

As you know, wheat flour is bad both for your health and your insulin levels, which is why it has been replaced with almond flour, a much healthier alternative that is very popular in keto recipes.

4. Keto Chicken Tenders

Full recipe here.

I’m going to take a wild guess here: do your kids love chicken nuggets?

If you answered “no” to this question, you probably have the most unique kids on earth. For the rest of us, you know how hard it can be to make them eat something else than chicken nuggets.

Luckily, a quick fix consists in making these keto chicken tenders with almond flour, to make them low carb and healthier for your little ones.

P.S.: And let’s be honest, we adults love chicken nuggets too!

5. Low Carb Jello Pops − Only 2 Ingredients

Full recipe here.

When comes summertime, ice cream follows. And kids tend to love ice cream even more than adults, however, the problem is that ice creams are usually loaded with sugar and preservatives, which makes them bad for their health.

Luckily, you can now make your own healthy ice cream at home, and it turns out it’s even cheaper than buying some.

These ice creams have only 1.1g net carbs, and only require 2 ingredients, so to say they’re easy would be a gross understatement.

6. Low Carb Keto Chocolate Chip Cookies

Full recipe here.

Have you ever met a kid that doesn’t like cookies? Me neither.

Unlike traditional cookies which use wheat flour, this recipe is made keto-friendly by using almond flour (I hope you know why by now), and uses Natvia − a zero-calorie, non-glycemic sweetener that doesn’t affect insulin levels or blood glucose − instead of sugar

7. Cheddar Cauli Tots

Full recipe here.

I love these cauliflower keto snacks for kids for two reasons:

  1. It can be very hard to make your kids eat their veggies, but thanks to its mild taste, cauliflower seems to be more accepted by children.
  2. Since cauliflower has a fairly neutral taste, your kids will probably think you made these snacks out of potatoes, and therefore not only will they eat their veggies, but they will LOVE it!

8. Low Carb Crackers

Full recipe here.

From time to time, it’s good to cut all the fluff and to go back to basics.

Crackers are one of the most basic yet powerfully effective snacks there is, but unfortunately, they aren’t keto friendly.

Until now. This recipe will allow you to make your own with almond flour, and only 2 other ingredients.

And if simplicity is your enemy, you can still top them with cheese.

9. Gummy Candy

Full recipe here.

I’m not sure why kids love candies so much, but what I do know is that they are unfortunately loaded with sugar, preservatives, and every unhealthy ingredient under the sun.

Luckily, you can now make your own gummy bears (or squares) with sugar-free jello, and make them keto-friendly.

If you can make them in different flavors, your kids will LOVE you for it.
